No. Indian citizens do not require a visa to enter Nepal. This visa exemption does not mean “no documents required.” Travellers should still carry the accepted original identity/travel document for their journey.
Is Passport Required for Nepal from India?

Nepal Entry Rules for Indian Children
Nepal Immigration states that Indian minors travelling by air with their parents can present a school identity card or birth-registration document. Airport information pages also refer to birth certificates for minors and school ID for children below 18 accompanied by parents.
One-parent / guardian travel: official pages reviewed here clearly cover minors travelling with parents; they do not provide a universal one-parent consent rule. If a child is travelling with one parent, relatives or a group, confirm airline and immigration requirements before departure and carry relationship/consent documents where relevant.
India to Nepal Road Entry: Which Border?

Sunauli–Bhairahawa
Commonly practical for Ayodhya, Lucknow, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Azamgarh, Prayagraj and Kanpur road itineraries toward Lumbini, Pokhara, Kathmandu and western/central Nepal.

Can an Indian Car Enter Nepal?
Yes, Indian vehicles can enter Nepal subject to the applicable customs and temporary-import procedures. Nepal Customs offices list temporary import of vehicles as a service, and customs guidance indicates that the vehicle and RC should be presented for temporary import processing.
Because vehicle charges and local procedures can change, check the customs office serving your chosen border before departure rather than relying on an old fixed fee copied from a travel blog.
Important: Nepal to a Third Country
If an Indian national plans to travel from Nepal to a third country, Embassy of India guidance currently requires an NOC from the Embassy of India in Kathmandu. The Embassy says the NOC is not required for Indian air passengers merely transiting Nepal without clearing immigration.

If You Lose Your Travel Document in Nepal
Indian nationals in Nepal who do not have a valid travel document for air travel back to India can approach the Embassy of India in Kathmandu for an Emergency Travel ID. The current Embassy page asks for two recent passport-size photographs, proof of Indian nationality and a flight-ticket copy, and lists a fee of NPR 7,300. The Emergency Travel ID is valid for a single return journey from Nepal.
Nepal Entry Rules for Foreign Tourists
This page is primarily for Indian travellers, but groups often include foreign-passport holders. Their rules are different: most eligible foreign tourists can obtain a Nepal tourist visa on arrival or apply through Nepal Immigration / a Nepalese mission.
